Simple Cornstarch Custard Saffron Firni

Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 3 cups whole milk
  • 4 tablespoons cornstarch
  • ½ cup sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Step 1: Mix
  • In a saucepan, whisk cornstarch, sugar, and ½ cup of the milk until smooth (no lumps).
Step 2: Cook
  • Slowly whisk in the remaining milk.
  • Place over medium heat and cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and coats the back of a spoon (about 8–10 minutes).
