Marghana Sayed MBA
Marghana Sharq Sayed is an Afghan-born entrepreneur, wellness advocate, poet, and social innovator devoted to the healing of both people and planet. With advanced degrees (M.A., M.B.A.) and decades of leadership experience, she brings together business acumen, creative expression, and a deep humanitarian vision.
As the first Afghan woman to publish poetry in English, her groundbreaking collection The Debris of Dreams (1988), later reissued as Tears of Heart (2011), gave voice to the unspoken inner world of Afghan women in a culture where expressing love was taboo. Her poems—touching on war, death, and exile—earned international recognition for their raw honesty and depth.
Her personal journey—from surviving conflict to pioneering ethical entrepreneurship—inspired the founding of Divine Healing Saffron, the first Afghan woman–owned saffron brand in the United States. Based in California, Marghana works closely with farmers to bring the world’s finest saffron while supporting women by creating jobs that help them survive and thrive. Divine Healing Saffron stands as a symbol of healing, resilience, and transformation.
Marghana’s Journey
From the trauma of displacement to the frontlines of ethical trade—led her to found Divine Healing Saffron, the first Afghan woman–owned saffron company in the U.S. From California, she partners with women farmers in Herat to deliver pure, ethically harvested saffron to the world—transforming a healing flower into a global force for empowerment.
As part of her mission, Marghana donates 11% of all profits to support underprivileged children in Afghanistan, funding food, clothing, and education for those most impacted by war and poverty. Through every sale, her business becomes an act of healing, purpose, and hope.
